Good evening.

It is 8PM on Halloween night.  As the newest member of this website, I bring a new genre of tales.  A darker side of Spark Stories.

Tales of woe and misery

I must be short, for the night is young and the shadows call to me.  I will return only when you have forgotten me.

I would like to introduce a new member of Spark Stories.

I am still the head writer, but he will be presenting stories of a new genre.  They will most likely be nonepisodic short stories.  I probably won’t be able to begin making them until after the new expansion, World Adventures, is released.  Therefore, you won’t hear from him for awhile, but I thought tonight would be an appropriate time to introduce him.  He will only post after dusk and before dawn.

I present to you… the Night Owl.

UPDATE (Oct. 31st):

Episode 2 is almost complete!  Unfortunately, I have two projects due in one of my online classes by midnight tonight.  This means that the story might not get posted until well after midnight.  I don’t plan on sleeping until it’s posted, so if you stay up unusually late, you might see it when it goes up.  Otherwise check for it tomorrow morning!  Until then… Happy Halloween!

UPDATE (Oct. 30th):

I haven’t been updating the Progress box in the menu.  I don’t think it matches the site very well, so I will be taking it down soon and reworking it.

I do have a little progress update for Episode 2, however.  I have all characters and locations completed, and the story is finished and ready to be typed.  I also have 42 images edited, so it’s all coming along swimmingly.  I’m also very excited about Episode 3, even though I was hoping for it to be a Halloween episode, so I will need to change it a bit.  Maybe.  We shall see!

I whipped up a cute little progress box for the side menu.  I’m not sure if I like it just yet, but it will do for now.  The four icons represent characters, locations, editing, and story/writing.  That’s all for now!

Just a little update!

I have added the Locations page and updated the Characters page for Solace.

For those of you curious about the next episode, I do have the new characters created and I’m currently working on the newest location.  Keep in mind that I spend a lot of time setting up for screen shots and composing each image prior to loading them into Photoshop for further editing.  My goal is to provide not just well thought out plots and characters, but high quality imagery.  Therefore, I am not able to provide new episodes as frequently as I otherwise would.  Because of this, I plan on posting a type of progress bar, either in news posts or on the side menu bar.  This way I can give frequent updates on the upcoming episode’s progress.

What is Solace?

I have just published the Characters page for Solace.  Since the first episode has not been posted yet, it only contains the profiles for a few characters.  As the story progresses and more episodes are released, new characters will find their way to the Characters page.

As a teaser for upcoming characters, you might see an “Unknown” with a silhouetted portrait and empty biography.  Once such a character is revealed in the series, their information on the Characters page will be unveiled.

Greetings! The first story is currently in the making, but has not been posted yet.  Although I have not yet uploaded any images, I do believe a brief preview is in order!  Do keep in mind that this information is subject to change.

Solace follows the adventures of young Lily Watson.  In response to all of life’s woes, she begins to escape into a fantasy world.  This tale is an episodic drama. Although her adventures will be mostly fantasy oriented, some may lean more towards mystery or even science fiction.  There will be a variety of recurring characters and locations, such as Lily’s family and friends, in addition to new people and places created for each episode.
